What do you want to be when you grow up? When I was little, for me, it was the classic young Nigerian response: a doctor (other responses include: engineer, professor, lawyer, etc.). I watched all the medical shows growing up (ER, Grey's Anatomy), enrolled in a health science class in high school and did clinicals in hospitals or medical facilities every week. Let's just say I was definitely on my way to being a doctor!

Fast forward to after my first semester in college. I was a double major in Biology and Business, with the intention of owning my own medical practice. I quickly learned that the studies needed to learn to be a doctor was just not my "jam" (pun intended). This began my LONG journey on who I was and what I wanted to do with life. And guess what?! I'm still figuring it out!

However, it wasn't until recently that I realized that there has always been one constant in my life...and that's baking! Even back when I was aspiring to be a highly renowned doctor, I would binge watch (was there binge watching in the 90s?) Food Network and other cooking shows as much as I could. On the weekends, my dad, sisters, and I would all spend the mornings baking random recipes. I look back on those times so fondly because that's what kept our family united throughout our ups and downs. Even now, with my husband, we nurture our relationship through baking. I have noticed it's the one thing that I enjoy and am able to recharge from. And seeing faces light up from my cookies also brings me so much joy.

I hope these cookies will bring the same relational depth and enjoyment to you and your loved ones as well!

Sincerely, Rachael
